2.2.1.3.4. Jyou-kyu Nihongo (Advanced Japanese)

With the difficulty level being on par with texts used in real Japanese junior high/high schools, and possibly the one of the most difficult textbooks used in Yamasa, Jyou-kyu Nihongo presents 'raw' Japanese texts and articles which are not modified in any way to make it easier for foreign Japanese language students. The book contains a wealth of non-fiction texts, essays articles, short-stories, as well as modern and ancient poems and other forms of fiction writing; all written by prominent figures in fiction and non-fiction Japanese literature.

Through its comprehension questions, students develop an ability to "read between the lines", and dig into the deeper meanings of the various types of Japanese writing.
